Spuzzum Creek View Point

Walk what was once a paved road which has now been eroded and weathered by the elements. At the end of this historic trail you’ll reach the epic viewpoint of the Spuzzum Creek and Spuzzum Creek Bridge. No trip will be complete without this! Don’t forget to tag @GlampSpuzzum in your pictures on Instagram

TAKE A DIP

There are several access points to Spuzzum Creek. One of our personal favourites is a trail that goes down just before The Spuzzum View Point. This pristine water is as a result of snow melt off! A dip will be cold but is always rejuvenating! Take a dip, have a meal or have a campfire!

Bird Sanctuary

Observe the day-to-day of Spuzzum's beautiful peacocks and birds at the Bird Sanctuary. Great for the kids!

Go Fish!

The Fraser River is the single largest river system in British Columbia; traversing three quarters of BC it is the major water drainage of the province. The Fraser River is the home of one of the world’s largest White Sturgeon populations. Anglers travel from near and afar to do battle with these magnificent ancient fish. Not only does the Fraser River boast incredible sturgeon fishing, it is also known for its massive salmon runs, averaging 20-50 million per year

Campfire and Stargazing

Gather around a fire at night, tell stories, roast marshmallows and make s’mores. Make sure you get look above to get a view of the stars before going to bed!

Alexandra Bridge

The original bridge was built as part of the Cariboo Wagon Trail in 1861. The bridge that exists there today was built in 1926 as the original one was destroyed by high waters in the early 1900s. As you walk across the bridge deck you can see the rushing Fraser River below your feet. Despite not being used for vehicle traffic since 1964, the bridge remains in decent shape and is a popular tourist destination for those traveling through the Fraser Canyon. Besides its historic and cultural significance, the Alexandra Bridge offers stunning views of the Fraser’s rushing waters and steep, rocky walls.

Lake of the Woods

It might not look like much on the map, but this place is quite a gem. The scenery is beautiful. Because it’s located at a rest stop, there isn’t a ton of parking, so be sure to get there early. The plus side to this is that there are restrooms available. The beach area has a pretty shallow part which is great for young kids and then you can take kayaks, stand up paddle boards, or flotation devices out into the rest of the lake. It’s just a beautiful little spot to go on a sunny day to cool off. Bring a picnic and enjoy! Be sure to not leave valuables in your car. The area isn’t necessarily known for theft, but it’s wise! Also, you can hop into town for some ice cream after or head to the river for another swimming spot

DISCOVER HISTORIC YALE, BC

A heritage building built in the 1870’s, the ‘Creighton House’ is home to a museum, gift shop, archives and Beth Clare garden. This museum is an absolute treasure. Lots of artifacts, exhibits and photos highlighting the glorious history of the town, colony, and province. Outdoor exhibits include a ‘Tent City’, showing life during the gold rush of 1858. The exhibit tents outside are great for kids to explore. St John the Divine, built in 1863, is one of the oldest churches in BC. Rather than have all 19th century artifacts sitting in a museum, the organisers of the site have tried to recreate a flavor of the gold-rush boom town. So, there is the main house, jammed pack full of memorabilia and photographers and then outside there are tents with a barber's shop, a saloon, a jail house and the original church The Ward Tea House serves tea, coffee, cold beverages, hot lunches, sandwiches, soups and desserts and The Johnny Ward Guest House originally built as a family home in 1863.

Tuckkwiowhum Village

Tuckkwiowhum Village (pronounced Tuck-we-ohm) is a First Nations heritage site and village located in Nlaka’pamux territory, 5 km south of Boston Bar, British Columbia. Tuckkwiowhum was given its name as it was known as a “great berry picking place” and still boasts rolling hills and lush forests of wild huckleberries, blueberries, and medicinal plants. Tuckkwiowhum Village was inspired by the desire to preserve and share the teachings of the Nlaka’pamux people. We offer our guests an opportunity to experience the Nlaka’pamux village lifestyle before the arrival of European culture. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful weekend getaway, a quick stop on the way through the canyon, or to immerse yourself in our rich lifestyle and culture, you’ll find what you’re looking for at Tuckkwiowhum Village

Rolly's Restaurant, Hope

Family-friendly diner with a retro vibe serves breakfast all day, plus sandwiches, pasta & seafood.

Home Restaurant (Hope)

Since the first Home Restaurant® opened in picturesque Hope, BC, in 1953, customers have been coming through our doors in search of ‘Home’ cooked comfort food at good prices served by good people.

Somewhere Else Cafe (Yale)

The Somewhere Else Cafe retains a 1950’s atmosphere. Photographs line the walls detailing the history of trucking through the often-treacherous Fraser Canyon. Many of the old photos have been brought in by the truckers who make this regular stop. Visitors can buy a T-shirt boldly stating: Real Men drive the canyon. The photos on the wall speak volumes of the perils. The Somewhere Else Café is very homespun. “Everything here is real,” Gail says. Her big sisters make the pie crusts, jams and jellies

Kibo Japanese Grill & Cafe (Hope)

A favourite when passing by Hope on your road trip. Small family run business in a cute little house on the side of the road. Despite having a smaller interior, they happily accommodate to parties of up to 10 people. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and food is made fresh and fast.
